Qualifications and skills:– Advanced University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Publicadministration. International Development Studies; Engineering, Environmental Studies; or equivalent; – Excellent reporting and communication skills: – Demonstrated ability to make oral and public presentations of technical issues. General professional experience: -Must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of Trade & Private Sector Development (TPSD) as well as in the field of energy.; Long and significant exposure to ACP issues (political. economic a n d socia1);Experience of working with various stakeholders in a multi-cultural context; – Experience with the EU’s project management cycle methodology would be an asset. Specific professional experience: – Must have a proven track record in promoting the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector in developing countries, relevant experience iii Africa would be a particular asset; – Must have in-depth knowledge and practica1 experience in fostering the business environment in developing countries (including investment promotion); – Experience formulating EDF-funded programmes would be an asset; – Experience preparing feasibility studies would be desirable; – Good knowledge of trade and investment development issues in ACP countries and familiarity with current private sector development programmes/initiatives & donor practices n ACP countries would be an asset. Note that civil servants and other staff of the public administration of the beneficiary country cannot be recruited as experts, unless prior written approval has been obtained from the Contracting Authority Language Skills: – Fluent in English (written & spoken), French will be an asset; |

Qualifications and skills:– Advanced degree in Engineering. Economics, Business Administration,Environmental Management, a specialization in renewable energy or related areas would be desirable: – Excellent command of office software such as word processors, spread sheets, and databases; – Strong analytical skills and excellent communication, reporting and writing skills. General professional experience: – In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies (bioenergy, solar, wind, etc.); – Demonstrated understanding of international policies and programmes related to climate change; Maturity and confidence is dealing with senior and high ranking members of international, regional and national institutions; – Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing complex technical information to both technical and non- technical audie11ces;Ability to work in a multinational/ multi-cultural environment. Specific professional experience: – Demonstrated experience in designing, evaluating or managing projects in the domain of Trade & Private Sector Development (business environment promotion) and/or renewable energy, preferably in the Pacific region. – Experience preparing feasibility reports for renewable energy projects would be an asset; – Good knowledge of current trade and investment development issues in Pacific countries and familiarity with current private sector development programmes/initiatives and donor practices in Pacific countries would be an asset.
